Eid ul-Adha, also called Bakrid, falls on the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah, the month of the Hajj pilgrimage. It honours Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
Muslims offer special prayers, perform qurbani and share the meat with family, neighbours and the poor. As with all Islamic festivals, the date depends on the moon.
